Legendary Chief Paduke
Paduke was Chief of the Sub-tribe of Chickasaw Indians, who lived and hunted in the area until Jackson Purchase, 1818. General William Clark, who founded Paducah, named it in honor of the friendly chief. The statue was sculptured by Lorado Taft in 1909. Mr. Taft combined features of various Indian tribes in its execution. Located at 19th & Jefferson Street.

River Heritage Museum
The River Heritage Museum overlooks the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. It is located in Paducah’s oldest standing downtown structure that once housed the Branch Bank of Louisville. A scheduled tour of our complex also includes the Maiden Alley Cinema and the observation deck of the towboat simulators at Seamen’s Church Institute Center for Maritime Education. View Wacinton, a hand-carved wooden statue carved from a 56,000-pound red oak by Peter "Wolf" Toth in 1985. The statue honors the Chickasaw, who claimed the lands in Western Kentucky and Tennessee, part of the "Trail of the Whispering Giants." The statue stands near the entrance of Noble Park.
